Small Himalayan bowl | with string
This little bowl from MEINL is unique in that it hangs from a string, with its opening pointing downwards. The (particularly pure) sounds and vibrations of this mini-bowl are therefore diffused downwards, unlike a traditional bowl whose opening faces upwards (unless a suction cup is used). You can also use it like a traditional bowl by holding it in the palm of your hand or placing it on the felt disc supplied.
This small bowl is ideal for resonating above a person lying down. Thanks to the string, it can also be rotated (in a circle, spiral or figure-of-eight), creating unique and soothing variations in sound amplitude. Just make sure you hold it securely! You can also use it for yourself, in a seated position for greater comfort.
Because of its size and weight, it can be made to resonate by gently 'striking' it with a small stick, rather like a Tibetan bell. Lightweight and easy to carry, it's perfect for accompanying a yoga practice in the studio, an outdoor meditation event or any moment of relaxation.

This original Himalayan bowl with string comes with a small felt stand and a protective pouch (no stick or mallet).
You can clean it with clear, lukewarm water (beware of the thermal shock of very hot or icy water). You can add a little natural soap and gently rub the inside and outside with a very soft cloth. Be sure to rinse it to remove any soap residue, then dry it with a clean, dry microfibre cloth. This step is particularly important so as not to leave any opportunity for oxidation of the 7-metal alloy that makes up traditional Tibetan bowls.
