Rainmaker | cactus rainmaker
The Rainmaker is native to the very dry Atacama desert in northern Chile, and is used during rain ceremonies by the Diaguito Indians to invoke the arrival of rain.
These rainmakers from Terré are made in Chile from lignified copados. The thorns are first removed, then pricked into the hollow cactus. Before closing the ends of the Rainmaker, small pebbles are placed inside. So when the Rainmaker is turned, the pebbles fall from one sting to the other and the sound it makes reminds us of rain, sometimes fine and subtle or more intense depending on how you handle the stick. A sound that takes us on a journey, awakens our senses and guides us towards relaxation.
