A bowl with an inwardly rounded shape, which keeps the sound and vibration inside for longer and then transmits it to the body. The vibrations are perceived even more deeply than with a traditional bowl.
In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the yin meridians tend to run along the inside of the thighs and arms (in the shade, linked to lunar energy) and the yang tend to run along the exposed outer parts of these limbs (in the light, linked to solar energy).
Just as everything is a mixture of yin and yang in the universe and within us, and just as each yin meridian works in pair with a yang meridian, the bowls in the Yin series work wonderfully with those in the Yang series. Yang series to (re)create a balance between the 2 vital energies, yin & yang.

This traditional Himalayan singing bowl is magnificent to use in a group or as a sound treatment, for direct resonance with the body.
Note that Yin singing bowls require a great deal of gentleness, whether you play them by turning them with a stick or by gently touching them. They are thinner than other bowls.
The Yin bowls are special and make a great addition to a more classical series. Also interesting as a complement to the Yang bowl.

You can clean it with clear, lukewarm water (beware of the thermal shock of very hot or icy water). You can add a little natural soap and gently rub the inside and outside with a very soft cloth. Be sure to rinse it to remove any soap residue, then dry it with a clean, dry microfibre cloth. This step is particularly important so as not to leave any opportunity for oxidation of the 7-metal alloy that makes up your Tibetan bowl.
