This elegant meditation shawl is made from 85% fine wool & 15% mulberry silk. Each side is a different colour, creating the illusion of a beautiful, delicate pattern when worn, a blend of soft, subtle greys and anthracites.
Meditation scarves are not only beautiful to wear, they can also be very useful in a variety of ways:
- When you're meditating, you can put the meditation shawl over your shoulders or legs to keep warm and feel safe.
- Shawls are also wonderful for covering up during relaxation (Savasana in Sanskrit) in Hatha Yoga.
- You can also simply wear them as a scarf or a chic accessory in your everyday life.

Yoga Boutique sources its meditation scarves from a small factory with 47 employees in the Kashmir region of India. It was founded in 1957 and is ISO certified. The people who work in this factory all have one thing in common: a passion for their craft, an eye for detail, a flair for creating new designs and colour variations, and a know-how that has been passed down from generation to generation. Traditional Kani shawls, for example, are still woven here today.
- Run water at 30 degrees maximum in a plastic bowl and dissolve a drop of silk detergent in it, swirling it around a little with your hand to distribute it evenly.
- Put the silk cloth in and leave it for three minutes, five at the most. While doing this, move it back and forth a little from time to time. Pour in the detergent.
- Rinse the silk in cold water.
- Then wring out the damp fabric very carefully and wrap it in a dry towel. Silk should never be wrung out, as it is particularly delicate when wet and the fibres can break.
- Don't hang it up soaking wet either, as heavy, damp silk can easily become misshapen. Pull the silk scarf only slightly to shape it and dry it flat.
- Silk should not be dried in the sun. Ideally, the silk should be dried outside in the shade under a cloudy sky.
- Always iron on the reverse side. The fabric should still be slightly damp so that creases can be ironed out easily. Another thing silk doesn't like at all is an iron that is too hot or uses steam.
- You can also turn on the hot shower and leave the crumpled scarf hanging overnight. The moisture acts like an iron.
We love this silk meditation scarf because it's so versatile. As well as being able to use it in our yoga and meditation sessions, we can wear it to enhance our everyday looks. It's very comfortable to wear and adds a little extra detail to our outfit.
